As exclusively revealed by The Wednesday Word, contract talks have stalled with the young defender. Weaver has slipped down the pecking order for a starting berth and Wednesday have explored the possibility of loaning the young player out to accelerate his football education. Several non-league clubs, including Forest Green Rovers, have expressed an interest in Weaver’s services - though FGR have since signed another centre back.
The centre-back’s present contract runs out at the end of the season, and with Ricardo Santos out injured, there’s believed to be no immediate rush to loan him out. He’s unlikely to be in today’s squad to face Wimbledon, though.
