NEVER BOO A WEDNESDAY SHIRT COMING ONTO THE PITCH. Unwritten law for many many years. If they've been rubbish entitled to boo off.

Young players are inconsistent, I don’t understand why people boo it’s ridiculous. His performance will get him a place in the team or be dropped. He’s on a learning journey. The booing just disadvantages us.

Like you Joe I didn’t hear any boos when he came on but I have seen the criticism on social media. For the most part, however, that criticism has been aimed at Pederson for persisting with Otegbayo rather than that player himself (obviously other than the usual idiots). Injuries have made it almost impossible to take him out of the firing line but I think for the players sake he should have been before Saturday. On the face of it Weaver seems to have done nothing wrong but doesn’t get much opportunity. I’m sure there are proper reasons (such as returning from injury or the contract situation, or maybe Weaver just isn’t as good as we think), but I feel like Otegbayo should have been protected 2 or 3 games ago and taken out for a spell.

Absolutely not trying to defend anybody who boos our own players btw in this post. Should not be happening especially with young players!

Played well when he came on in all fairness

100% - it's a doom loop. He's not going to get any better while he's being booed and we can't take him out of the firing line because of injuries. So really these fans are just making the team worse by booing. Smart.
