Well I don’t I’m afraid. So, is every match a crunch match until he’s sacked? If we are top of the league still not playing shackles off football is that still time to sack him? Do points in the bag, and let’s not forget only Oxford have more points available to win than us by the end of the season, count for nothing?By that metric we are on target to be automatic. Against Huddersfield we beat them on every metric bar goals scored but they ‘dominated’ us with their 30% possession. Yes they created some chances and their goals were avoidable but players kicking it straight into touch, tripping over the ball giving it away in key areas is down to the quality of player not the manager.
We’ve only played 8 games with a number of our potentially better players absent. Time will tell what happens but why stoke the fire of discontent with another 114 points to play for.
I'm with you there Golfing Owl. The team has shown it can play good exciting football to the managers instructions, albeit not for too long. I'm sure HP doesn't tell the players to go out and be ponderous, slow, give the ball away. No that's the players fault for not following instructions. This then leads us down another path, if the players aren't up to following the managers instructions, then who recruited them in the first place. Not entirely by HP I guess, there's a whole new team of recruiters making sure we get the right mix of players surely they have to take some responsibility as well. We've shown we can play well, lets see it happen more often, they've obviously got the skills to do it. I'm hopeful it will turn around, we're still weeks away from the artificial deadline of Xmas at which a lot of punters were saying would be the time to make a judgement about HP, but lets not drag it forward.
Yes and when did the decline start? It was when our then chairman Dave Richard’s sat on the Kop and asked supporters whether we should sack our manager Tricky Trev, after all we had dropped to 8th in the Premier League and supporters know best don’t they. There’s been a succession of players, managers and owners since. But the one thing anyone should have learnt in that 26 years is that sacking managers after 8 games, particularly when they are on track for automatic promotion points wise, is not the answer.
I agree with every word, Joe...

This is why we've
been 26 years out of the Premier league putting up with the dross like this...
