The Owls take on Wigan at 3pm on Saturday afternoon as they attempt to continue their unbeaten run in League One, and maintain their place at the top of the table as they do so.
It may be early doors in the 2026/27 campaign, but Wednesday already have a number of players unavailable due to injury, and it’s going to be a while before we see players such as Louie Barry, Max Lowe, Sil Swinkels and Jordi Liongola back in action. Tyler Onyango, meanwhile, faces months on the sidelines.
Here’s what Henrik Pedersen had to say today…
Liam Cooper
"Coops looks fresh, looks good, looks happy. He is strong and I'm happy to see that.
"His mentality is amazing, he puts everything in with his big heart. He is a warrior and will always stand up again."
Ricardo Santos
"Santos is moving forward, he is looking stronger and stronger so I am very positive for him also. Let's see for tomorrow, we are still waiting for the reaction from training."
Di’Shon Bernard
"Dish has had a very strong training week and is really looking forward to Sunday. He will play for the Under-21s on Sunday.
"I am so pleased that he has a smile on his face and is looking forward to playing a game again."
Harry Gray
"Harry has had a really good training week too and is looking really good. He's a young boy who loves football! He would play every minute, he is very hungry to play again."
The opposition
Akeel Higgins is once again unlikely to feature after missing the Latics’ last two games, while the likes of Luke Harris, Christian Saydee and Ryan Trevitt all remain absent due to their respective injuries.
