Lumley missed Sheffield Wednesday’s 5-0 demolition of AFC Wimbledon, having picked up a knock against Huddersfield Town a week ago. Ashley Maynard-Brewer replaced in between the sticks and helped Wednesday keep a third consecutive clean sheet at Hillsborough as Henrik Pedersen’s men returned to winning ways.

“I think we are looking at two to three weeks,” Pedersen told the media. “Let’s see how quick it will go. I think Ashley played a strong game today. Defensively he was very strong and offensively he was solid.”
The Dane heaped praise on his players after a scintillating attacking performance. “I’m really happy with the five goals but we stayed concentrated defensively and those are the fundamentals,” he said. “We cannot expect to make five goals and there will be difficult times. As long as we are strong defensively then we can get points on very difficult days.”
A section of the fan base criticised Pedersen following Wednesday’s recent dip in form. Thrashing Wimbledon was the perfect way for Wednesday to get back on track in League One.
“I have a big trust in my boys and I can see how they are and my coaches are working every day,” said Pedersen. “When we play like we did in the first half at Huddersfield, I know it’s not how we want to play football. But I also see when we open up that I saw our boys like we were at the beginning of the season and we need training time to bring all those players together…
“This has been the first week where we have had more of the injured players back and we’ve been able to play 11 vs 11 with two strong teams and we could bring the intensity high up to a game level. It will help us every time we can do that so I’m pleased that the boys had success on the pitch.”
