Exclusive: John Terry urges football's powers that be to do more to avoid Sheffield Wednesday scares
Premier League legend, John Terry, believes that more needs to be done to avoid situations like the one that recently arose at Sheffield Wednesday.
Wednesday are under new ownership now after the Arise consortium took the reins from beleaguered former chairman, Dejphon Chansiri, but for a while there were genuine concerns about the future of the football club.
Though they were the big example over the last year or so, so many teams in English football have been pushed to the brink, leaving fans in deep distress about the future of the clubs that they support.
Terry, who played at Hillsborough during his playing days but also remembers SWFC when they were in the Premier League, would like to see more help being given by all of those in power in the footballing world.
Speaking to The Wednesday Word this week, courtesy of SuperSport, the former England and Blues captain spoke fondly of the Owls, but also discussed the need for better protection of clubs going forward.
