Departure of Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper confirmed
As previously reported by The Wednesday Word, Logan Stretch has completed a switch from Sheffield Wednesday to Buxton on loan.
TWW explained last week that the 19-year-old was on the verge of joining former Owls youth coach, Jordan Broadbent, at The Silverlands, and now his loan switch - for the entire 2026/27 season - has been confirmed.
Wednesday said on their official website this evening, “Logan Stretch has signed for National League North side Buxton on a season-long loan… The young Owls goalkeeper joined Wednesday’s academy in 2023 and progressed to earn a professional contract, making his senior debut in the Emirates FA Cup against Brentford in January 2026.
“Stretch also has recognition on the international stage having represented Wales through the age groups, most recently in the European Under-19 Championship this summer.
“The shot-stopper is now set for regular first-team football at the Silverlands, where he reunites with former Owls Under-18s manager and current Bucks boss Jordan Broadbent.”
More exits are expected between now and the end of the transfer window, but in terms loans and permanent departures.
