Safe standing and huge undertakings – The Hillsborough work ongoing as Sheffield Wednesday prepare for 2026/27
Driving down Penistone Road it might not seem like Sheffield Wednesday’s Hillsborough stadium is a hotbed of activity.
The Owls’ new owners, Arise Capital Partners, have a list as long as their collective arms to work through as they look to right the wrongs of Dejphon Chansiri when it comes to the upkeep of the club’s S6 home, and the tasks range from the huge to the subtle.
“Lots of exciting stuff going on at Sheffield Wednesday,” David Storch said in a recent social media post. “And we’re only 35 days in… No one standing still. David Bruce and team are hard at work. Stay tuned!”
‘No one standing still’ is definitely the case – because the work happening at Wednesday right now is unlike anything seen in the last decade at the club.
