The Wednesday Word reported recently that things had progressed with regards to the former Stockport County manager taking over at Hillsborough, and that he was still the favourite despite ongoing discussions elsewhere.
Now it has been announced that Challinor has come on board as Henrik Pedersen’s replacement, and that he will be there to watch the game against Blackpool this afternoon.
“Sheffield Wednesday Football Club can confirm that an agreement was reached last night for Dave Challinor to become the club's new First-Team Manager,” they said.
”The 51-year-old will be in attendance at today's fixture against Blackpool at Hillsborough… The club looks forward to formally introducing Dave to supporters on Monday, when further details of the appointment will be announced.”

Well done to the team for getting the appointment made quickly. Be interesting to see the changes he makes and how he sorts out the issues in midfield and inability to defend set pieces
Good luck to him, hopefully he proves to be a success 🙏🏼
