Though Ali Al-Hamadi had to withdraw from the Iraq squad due to an ankle injury, there are still plenty of other Wednesday players - permanent and loanees - representing their respective nations across the globe.
Yan Valery and Tunisia have been in competitive action as they looked to make progress in their quest to reach the Africa Cup of Nations. Things didn’t go great, however, with the Eagles of Carthage drawing 1-1 with Uganda and then 2-2 with Botswana. The Owls full-back played 90 minutes in the first game but was unused in the second - he may return on Saturday against Mali.
Then there’s Kieran Morrison, who was left on the bench for Northern Ireland’s 1-0 win over Georgia as well as the 0-0 draw with Hungary. He did manage to get his Liverpool teammate’s shirt at Windsor Park, though, swapping with Dominik Szoboszlai. NI have games against Ukraine and Georgia still to come.
Back to Africa, and Sean Fusire got 90 minutes under his belt with Zimbabwe as they pressed on with their AFCON qualifiers, playing the first half of a 3-2 win over Sierra Leone and the second as they lost 2-1 to the Democratic Republic of Congo. He’ll soon be heading back to Sheffield.
Now for the younger players… Harry Gray has had the best time of things so far, making his England U19s debut was a second half substitute in a 1-0 win over the Republic of Ireland, before grabbing an assist in his first start as they beat Norway 2-1. Two more friendlies remain, against the USA and Belgium.
In Welsh colours, Logan Stretch - who is on loan with Buxton - didn’t make the matchday squad for the U21s as they lost 1-0 to the Belgians, and he’ll be hoping for better in their final EURO 2027 qualifier against Austria on Tuesday.
Will Grainger started for Cymru’s U19s earlier today as they were beaten 2-0 by the United States, and will be eager to pick up more minutes in their other friendlies against Norway and Northern Ireland on October 2nd and 5th out in Marbella.
And finally, Devlan Moses came close to adding to his international tally after coming on in the second half for Northern Ireland’s U21s in a 4-1 win over Malta over the weekend. He’ll be desperate to get a start or two in the Euro qualifiers against Georgia and Greece.

Nice little round-up there, I did watch the Northern Ireland v Hungary match and both of the Charles brothers were excellent, although I couldn't get my head around why the two Liverpool players were being booed!
