Spitting monkeys, Acapulco and Montezuma’s revenge – When Sheffield Wednesday made history at the Azteca

It’s been almost 60 years since Sheffield Wednesday’s tour of Mexico, and they’re still the last English club to play at the famous Azteca Stadium.

With Thomas Tuchel’s men possibly heading there soon should they make it past the Democratic Republic of Congo, here at The Wednesday Word we thought we’d take a look at a trip that had a bit of everything – goals, red cards, terrible sickness and even a run-in with the local law enforcement.
