Sheffield Wednesday injuries: Pierce Charles update and Svante Ingelsson latest
Henrik Pedersen offered an injury update today ahead of Sheffield Wednesday's visit to Oxford United this weekend - including some news on Pierce Charles.
The Owls take on the U’s tomorrow afternoon in their penultimate game of the 2025/26 campaign, and it offers one of just two more opportunities to claw their way back to zero points following some hefty deductions earlier in the campaign.
For the hosts, it’s a must-win game for them if they’re to keep their survival hopes alive, so there could be a nervy atmosphere over at the Kassam. Wednesday, meanwhile, want to try and end a terrible season on a high note.
Speaking ahead of the tie, the Owls boss gave the latest on player availability…

Speaking to the media ahead of the trip to Oxfordshire, Pedersen gave updates on Charles, Svante Ingelsson and Jarvis Thornton - admitting that there are also some other doubts for the clash.
“Svante has his own programme right now, so he’s training as much as possible, but controlled. And then he’ll meet a specialist on Tuesday before deciding what they’re going to do (about possible surgery).
“Pierce has trained today, yes, and yesterday as well… We have a few doubts elsewhere and there will be some late decisions today and tomorrow. We’re at the end of the season, so we’ll see.
“Jarvis got a very tough dead leg, but he’s a strong young man so he’s going to be in the squad tomorrow.”
Wednesday face Oxford on Saturday at 3pm.
