The Owls return to action on Saturday as Wimbledon come to town in League One, with Hillsborough set to boast another solid third-tier crowd. Victory could see Henrik Pedersen’s side climb back into the top two if other results go their way as well.
Wednesday won’t be at full strength, but we knew that would be the case given the injuries to players such as Louie Barry and Tyler Onyango, but there is some good news this week as two defenders look to try and make their comeback.

The Wednesday Word at today’s press conference at Middlewood Road, and here’s the latest injury news for both sides…
Max Lowe and Sil Swinkels
"It has been a really good week, we have had a big group training this week. Max has trained a lot as has Sil, who is improving every day so this is very positive news."
At least one of them could make at least the bench, it’s believed.
Jordi Liongola and Ali Al-Hamadi
"Jordi was on the pitch today and he was very happy so that is also positive for us… Ali has trained with full power this week."
Louie Barry
"Louie Barry is running a lot and working hard with the ball. You can see from the smile on his face that he is getting better and better."
Liam Cooper
As previously reported by TWW, Liam Cooper’s head injury against Huddersfield Town was a superficial one rather than anything internal, so there was no concussion - meaning he doesn’t have to adhere to the protocol that would’ve ruled him out for Saturday.
Ricardo Santos
It was explained that the defender is back in the gym as he continues his rehab from injury but has yet to return to full training, so this weekend’s game will definitely come too soon for him to feature.
The Opponents
The visitors are likely to be without winger, James Tilley, as well as forward Mathew Stevens, while Dujuan Richards, Donnell McNeilly and Dan Sweeney have missed games recently due to injury.
Elsewhere, Ollie Harrison should be able to shrug off a knock from the Plymouth game, but Isaac Ogundere faces a spell out of action.
“Ollie just took a whack on the ankle,” Jackson told Wimbledon’s club website last week. “I think that’s just a sore one, but I think he’ll be all right.
“Ogs looks like he’s pulled his groin, he is probably likely to probably miss a little while. I don’t know how bad it is. I’ll speak to him and we’ll get him scanned on Monday.”
