It’s mid-July, and Sheffield Wednesday are about to embark on a preseason trip to Hungary and Vienna. We’re seeing a level of competency not many of us can remember.

The only negative I have is that existing foundation members who had access to the 1867 lounge before and after matches still don’t know whether there will be any provision for them in the ground next season. My elderly parents used to love meeting friends and family there before the game. They certainly can’t afford the new Hirsty’s Lounge. As a consequence their matchday experience is going to look very different. They’ve e mailed the club but haven’t had a response.
We’re in the same boat. Used to use it as a great meet up space before and after matches and it was brilliant for my husband and niece who are both disabled. We haven’t heard anything from the club either. Really disappointing
Hi Joe I didn’t get an email to say it was closing, have emailed the club since (as has another member) and heard nothing back so I suppose you could say both!!
We have never had an owner who is fully competent in my life (watching owls since 1982) DC was the worst but the owners before got major judgements wrong and always had allegations of fraud hanging in the background.
This ownership team is absolutely fantastic. Every step has been logical up to now and gives us a sense of confidence in them. I like that we have plans to bring the woman’s team back in the club and have engaged with other groups like the armed forces (still work to be done but intention is there) even a non betting sponsor is to be applauded. I now have a season ticket the first time in 9 years, I stopped because I didn’t feel welcome and couldn’t buy into the club anymore, OMG that has changed totally obsessed with everything Wednesday now I am 16 years old again 👏🏽🫶🏽🦉🦉🦉
Yeah, I think that’s been forgotten by a few of the younger generation - that Chansiri was awful, but he’s not the first bad owner we’ve had. Hopefully we’re where we need to be now.
Joe I cannot tell you how happy I am, I have missed my team so much and written it off as “what I used to do” I am so chuffed to be back. Even my family say I am more cheerful haha
Do we/you know more about the pre-season tour in Hungary and Austria? Asking because of a vested interested seeing as we're in Austria (Zell-am-See, south of Salzburg so the western part of the country) 20-27 July and Salzburg 27-29 July? :-D
I doubt many of the 1st team will play, I would've thought fringe players, trialists or promising academy starlets to step up and have an eye cast over them in prep for their next step up. Sensible management, something we need to familiarise ourselves with

I think they’re working on something for that. Although there are obviously space limitations. But yeah, I can understand that' it’s not ideal.

Oh really? I was told that all of those affected had been informed ahead of time. Sorry to hear that you weren't.
There were several of us that weren’t emailed ahead of time from my ‘group’.
I’ll let the club know, but I’m sure that was an error rather than anything intentional.

Appears to be confusion around the Hallam fixture too. The ticket says 13/7 whilst the websites suggest it’s on 14/7
