Top for shots, perfectly placed: Sheffield Wednesday’s best statistical performers vs Orient
There was one man in particular that stood out for Sheffield Wednesday against Leyton Orient, but it was by no means a one-man show.
Wednesday made it three wins from three as their 2-1 victory over Orient continued their run after seeing off West Bromwich Albion and Bolton Wanderers, with the trio of triumphs all coming in different competitions.
Henrik Pedersen’s side certainly weren’t flawless at Brisbane Road, and struggled for large periods in the first half as the hosts controlled play, but changes in the second stanza helped the Owls and by the time the final whistle blew they were good value for their three points.
There was another debut - albeit short-lived - and a second solid display from Joe Lumley, while Barry Bannan (despite his horror miss) was a key cog centrally once more. Statistically, however, there were three players who topped the pile in blue and white.
