The Owls ran out 2-1 winners at Adams Park on Tuesday evening, with Louie Barry and Jamal Lowe getting the goals for the visitors that took them up to second place in League One.
It was a frustrating evening for the hosts, though, with some big calls going Wednesday’s way in Buckinghamshire, including a big shout for a penalty being turned down after what appeared to be a handball from Gabriel Otegbayo.
With Duff being sent off, the Chairboys’ assistant, Alex Morris, was on post-match interview duties… Here’s some of what he and Henrik Pedersen had to say:
Alex Morris
“Their penalty is not a penalty,” he said, as quoted by the Bucks Free Press. “It’s just not a penalty. He (Slattery) is on his way down before he even gets close to Cauley. He doesn’t make any contact with him.
“We have a definite penalty when Caolan (Boyd-Munce) shoots. I think it was Otegbayo who saved it with his hands… He literally dived and saved the ball and produced an action that a goalkeeper would produce. How that’s not been picked up and seen, I don’t know…
“We will play worse than that this season and win. We’re still searching for that first win, but the performance points in the right direction. It shows we’re trending in the right direction and I think it will give everybody confidence and belief going into Saturday’s game.”
Henrik Pedersen
“Big respect to the boys,” he told Radio Sheffield. “To bring 16 boys together, and to progress on the play side and culture side, and how we’ve grown together to form a team… We showed today that in a difficult game we could stay together.
“I have to say, how Barry Bannan and Liam Cooper and Yan, and Billy, how they brought the team together in difficult phases. All the other guys could look and say, ‘Hey, Barry is working hard, Coops is working hard, Billy is working hard, Yan is working hard’. They’re all working hard.
“So all the young guys have these really strong mirrors to look at and keep the belief and trust.”

ah the old selective memory on decisions approach, to be fair the ref was awful for both teams ... bannan clearly had his shirt pulled last man and maybe even in the box. Take the points and move on !
