The Wednesday Word reported earlier this week that Wednesday were looking to try and wrap-up a deal that would see them secure the attacker’s signature before the closure of the transfer window, and while all of the documentation was submitted in time, there were delays in elements of the clearance.
Keillor-Dunn - who will wear the number 50 - has this evening been announced as the Owls’ 18th and final signing of what has been a remarkable summer at Hillsborough, with the 28-year-old joining on a six-month loan without an option to buy.
It’s worth noting that the fact that he’s already played for Wrexham in 2026/27 means that, once he’s debuted for the Owls, he won’t be able to play for another club for the rest of the season.
“I’m over the moon, to be honest,” he said. ““It’s such a huge club with massive ambition and I’m just buzzing to be a part of it and try and get the club where it needs to be.
“Even before I knew of the interest I was watching, because it’s such a big club and you don’t want to see a club like that in a sticky situation.
“It’s amazing for the football club to be in the place they’re in and the clarity around the place and the ambition here is just fantastic. You’d be crazy not to want to be a part of it.
“I’m someone who just works his socks off for the football club and ultimately loves to create chances and score goals in front of big crowds.
“I’d like to see myself as a big game player and score big goals for the football club, so hopefully I can do that.”
Meanwhile, the club’s Sporting Director, Simon Wilson, added, “Davis is an exciting signing for us and his arrival epitomises the collaborative team effort we have seen throughout the window, with Kevin Beadell and David Bruce playing important roles in getting this deal over the line.
“We have made a strong start to the season, particularly in the final third, and in Davis we have added another top attacking talent to the squad.
“He will suit our style of play and his track record at this level speaks for itself. His arrival caps a terrific block of work by our brilliant team behind the scenes, who have delivered throughout what has been a uniquely demanding window.”

Injuries are something that we cannot control, but putting that aside I think our summer recruitment has been excellent. Experience, hungry young players, proven performers - there has been a bit of everything brought in. Add in to the mix the retention of some of our quality players from last season and I have to admit that I’m impressed with the work done by our recruitment team.
Strange that it’s only until January, imagine if he does well he’ll be off!
